Labs & Food Sensitivity Testing

Lab Tests

As a Naturopathic Doctor, I can requisition for a wide array of blood tests. These tests can be helpful in determining the cause of your concerns by screening for deficiencies, assessing hormone levels or for general health screening.

Food Sensitivity Testing

Food sensitivities are different than food allergies. A food allergy is an immediate immune response to a food that can create a potentially life threatening reaction. Symptoms of a food allergy arise very soon after consuming the offending food and may include: hives, itching and swelling of the tongue, mouth or throat and difficulty breathing. A food sensitivity is a delayed immune response to a food that can, over time, promote inflammation, which may contribute to a wide variety of health concerns, including: IBS and other digestive disturbances, migraines, difficult weight loss, fatigue, eczema, acne, joint pain, sinus congestion and runny nose, among others. These reactions can take hours or even days to develop, which often makes them difficult to identify without a systematic elimination and subsequent challenge or food sensitivity testing. For more information about the tests, you can book an appointment for us to discuss further or click here.

Cost

Each test has it's own associated cost. These are out of pocket expenses unless you have health insurance that specifically covers lab testing; they are not covered under Naturopathic Services.
